Mayor Attends Bridport Care Home as Resident Celebrates Book LaunchCelebrations were in order at HC-One’s St James’ Park care home in Bridport, as Resident, Frederick Beedie, launched a book of his memoirs over the years.

The book, titled ‘Acting Able Seaman - Hostilities Only: A Memoir’, was written about Frederick’s life as he escaped the Blitz during World War Two, and went on to join the Royal Navy. His memoir has taken around two years to write, with the book detailing memories of events as they happened seventy-five years ago.

A book launch was held in the home, with Frederick signing copies for friends and Relatives, as well as special guest, Mayor of Bridport, Barry Irvine. Frederick was delighted to sign copies for all, as he remarked at how proud he was to launch his book with the Mayor present.

A celebratory cake was made for Frederick, in honour of his wonderful achievement.

Nicola Grinton, supporting home manager, commented: “We are so proud of Frederick and his wonderful accomplishment, his book is wonderful and we have purchased a copy to be held in the home’s library.”
