Mayor and Mayoress of Hillingdon attend 100th birthday celebrations For Hayes care home Resident
Celebrations were in full swing at HC-One’s Aston House care home as Resident Betty (Elizabeth) turned 100 years of age.

Mayor and Mayoress of Hillingdon, David Yarrow and Mary O’Connor MBE, attended the home to celebrate this occasion alongside Residents and Relatives at the home, for an afternoon filled with laughter and joy, with memories shared between Betty and her fellow Residents. The home organised the celebration with live entertainment, a party buffet and a variety of activities for all to do.

Born in Birkenhead, Cheshire in 1919, Betty spent her life as a family-orientated individual. She met her first husband in the town with whom she shares two daughters – Pat and Joan – before relocating to West Drayton where she has lived the majority of her life.

Betty went on to marry a further two times, most recently to a gentleman named Ted who she states was her ‘happy ever after’. Sadly, Ted passed away a few years ago, but she and her family hold him close to their hearts.

Her family has extended now to include six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, all of which she is very proud of.

Throughout her life, Betty was a self-proclaimed ‘party girl’ who enjoyed socialising with her friends at local night clubs, as well as enjoying the occasional tipple. She spent many years of her career, working for the local vinyl factory, EMI Hayes, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Nowadays, Betty enjoys spending her time relaxing in the friendly atmosphere of the home, participating in the various activities that take place alongside members of the local community. Her family remarked that she has always lived life to the full, and spent her youth living each day as if it were her last.

Seema Jose, Home Manager at Aston House, said: “At HC-One, we make every effort to ensure our Residents celebrate their special occasions in the best way possible.

“We would like to wish Betty a wonderful birthday, and many happy returns. We are so glad to have her living with us in the home, she is such a kind and lovely lady.”
