Maple Court Residents pressing flowers for familesWith leaves starting to fall off the trees and summer dawns on, Maple Court care home Residents have collected flowers and leaves to create wonderful cards for their families.

The Residents collected flowers from Maple Court’s garden and then pressed these ready for the next activity which was organised by Wellbeing Coordinator, Shirley Millward. Shirley had already pressed some rose petals from home and thought this would be a great idea for Residents.

Maple Court’s ladies and Iris wanted to make pictures to send to their families and Colleen wanted to make something for her bedroom wall. Due to the lack of face-to-face communication with families at the moment and not being able to get out and about as much, Residents were pleased with an exciting new activity that they could share with their loved ones.

Everyone enjoyed sorting through the flowers. Gladys Kelsall said, “My husband would love this card”, which she sent to him by post.

The ladies later used the new flower presses again so that they can do something in future.
