Manor Park care home enjoys Nutrition and Hydration WeekResidents at HC-One’s Mornington Hall care home have enjoyed participating in Nutrition and Hydration Week this week.

Usually held in March, this year’s Nutrition and Hydration week was held in June due to the global pandemic and in recognition of all that the health and social care system is doing for everyone at this time, and everyone was pleased it was still able to go ahead.

Various beverages and snacks have been available for Residents to indulge in over the week, with Colleagues positively encouraging and emphasising the importance of remaining hydrated throughout the day – even more so as the weather had become increasingly warmer this month.

From home made ice lollies to smoothies, jelly cups and iced fruits with flavoured waters, Residents have enjoyed tasting the deliciously refreshing treats available.

The week ended with an exciting ‘chilled out’ tea party which of course included tea and some delicious croissants and cakes made especially for this. Residents tucked in to the treats as they shared with Colleagues, their favourite parts of the week and what new foods they hope to try on the next part of the ‘adventure’.

Pervine King, Home Manager, remarked: “It’s been a wonderful week of trying new fruits and foods, as well as giving Residents the opportunity to taste some new drinks with some becoming a firm favourite!”
