Manchester Care Home Resident Celebrates 65th Wedding Anniversary
Kath Ford, a Resident at HC-One’s Averill House Care Home in Newton Heath, and her husband Brian Ford recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary with a special celebration at the home.

Kath grew up in West Gorton and met Brian outside Sivoris Milk Bar on Clones Street. For their first date, Brian took Kath to the cinema.

Brian divulged that the secret to a long and happy marriage was patience, love and bringing up five wonderful children together.

Kath and Brian received an abundance of cards and flowers from relative’s friends and staff. They enjoyed a champagne toast, buffet and special musical performance from “Glenn’s Girls”. The home decorated the room with balloons and the couple was presented with a specially made cake, and even a card from the Queen!

The couple’s daughter had also travelled over from Australia to join in with the celebrations.

Roisin Doyle, Averill House Care Home Manager, said:

We would like to say a huge congratulations from everyone at Averill House to Kath and Brian on their 65th wedding anniversary. They are a fantastic couple and we wish them many more happy years together.”

HC-One Regional Managing Director, Liz Whyte, said:

“Kath’s anniversary celebrations sounds great! Organising memorable events like this is an important part of how HC-One provides the kindest care.”
