Rose Court care home, in Radcliffe, held a cake sale on 21st September in support of the MacMillan Annual Coffee Morning.
A huge number of cakes were generously donated by Relatives of Residents and Colleagues, with a selection of bubble-gum and elderberry cupcakes, made by one of the home’s Unit Managers, homemade Bakewell tarts, Victoria sponge cakes and other various cakes and brownies.
In the afternoon Colleagues had a stall set up for a cake sale in the foyer for visitors and Colleagues to buy the cakes and also for the Residents to come and choose their own as a tasty treat.
It was an enjoyable and successful day for all involved at the 87-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, and many commented on how delicious the cakes were.
Residents reminisced after the cake sale about their favourite slice which brought back childhood memories of baking.
Lucy Ling, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “It was a successfully bake sale, especially with the generosity shown by the Relatives baking and buying the cakes. A lovely day was had by all.”
