Management at HC-One’s Lothian House care home in Spennymoor decided that it would be beneficial for everyone if they had a ‘back to the floor’ day, where they support their Colleagues with jobs around the home.
HC-One Managing Director, Stephen Butterworth spent the day assisting the Maintenance Operative, George with the daily checks around the home and doing maintenance jobs that were required.
While Home Manager, Jill Carr and Deputy Home Manager, Lynn Spencer also helped with other jobs around the care home which included helping Head Housekeeper, Stacey with the daily cleaning rota.
Everyone thought it was a beneficial experience, Residents enjoyed the chance to chat with the team as they were working on the floor and chatting to them about their tasks for the day.
Lothian House Home Manager, Jill Carr said: “It was really good to get the opportunity to work with the team and experience their roles first-hand, I was able to help with things I never even knew I would be able to do.”
