A Resident has had her wish granted this week at HC-One’s Roseberry Court Care Home in Redcar.
Resident Lillian Mooney wished to go to the pub with her friends to enjoy a vodka and orange, so staff made her wish come true and organised a pub meal for Lilly and her friends.
It was a beautiful sunny day so everyone enjoyed a bus trip to Kaskanes in a little fishing village, Skinningrove. Everyone took part in a sing-a-long on the bus, which had everyone smiling and laughing by the time they arrived.
Everyone chose what they wanted from the menu with Lillian ordering herself a vodka and orange, commenting:
“It’s been years since I’ve enjoyed a Vodka and orange, the last time I had one was when I used to go to the bongo club in Middlesbrough. Cheers ladies!”
After lunch, they went for a drive along the coastline and an impromptu trip to an ice cream bar where they enjoyed ice creams together before heading home.
Lillian had a huge smile on her face all day; everyone really enjoyed being out in the fresh air and exploring the new surroundings.
Roseberry Court’s Home Manager, Alison Corner commented:
“We like to get our Residents out and about in the fresh air, and this was a special outing as we made a Resident’s wish come true.”
