Residents at
Brompton House care home, in Broadway, felt very lucky to be visited by a very skilled pompom maker, name Alan, this December.
Accompanied with lots of beautiful decorations made from wool, Alan took time to show Residents Barbara, Betty, Evelyn, Pat, Janet and Gwen, how to make a pompom and he engaged them with making their own.
Residents at the 37-bed residential and nursing care home were amazed at how easy it was for them to make pompoms and they were very proud of their work. They loved all designs, especially Christmas pudding.
Alan made sure that all Residents got some pompoms made for them and he donated a beautifully made Santa head for each Resident in the home.
Karina Kotkowska, Covid Coordinator, commented, “It was lovely to see the Residents so engaged and happy.”
“Everybody loved Alan and they made a very nice connection with him, so when it was time for him to go, Residents asked him to come back again in the spring to show them how to make chicks and bunnies out of wool. He promised that he will be back soon.”
