Magna Residents meet Pippin, the working Cocker SpanielThis month at Magna in Wigston, which offers residential dementia and nursing dementia care, Residents had a special visitor stop by the care home.

Pippin, the working Cocker Spaniel was brought into Magna care home to meet the Residents. Everybody was very pleased to see her, Pippin sat with many of the Residents and enjoyed lots of attention from them all. Gillian, a Resident at Magna said, “oh my, you have the waggiest tail I have ever seen!” which she was then told that Pippin had actually won an award for having the waggiest tail! Pippin belongs to Winnies great granddaughter Amelie, another Resident at the care home.

Many other Residents such as Ingrid, Mavis, Alan and Dennis all spoke about Pippin’s kind nature and how much they enjoyed her visiting them. Having Pippin around led to the Residents reminiscing on the different pets they used to have, Gillian went on to talk about her lovely Springer Spaniel called Rex. Joan, another Resident in the care home has lost her sight but thoroughly loved having sometime to pat Pippin, she went onto say “oh she’s so beautiful and fluffy”.

Everybody seems to have really enjoyed having Pippin in the home, other Residents had commented “She is such a lovely gentle dog, very loving” whilst another hopes she will return again “It was lovely to meet Pippin, we all hope she will come again to visit us”.

Chipo, the Home Manager spoke afterwards and said “It was lovely to see our Residents enjoying the company of Pippin”.
