Residents and colleagues at HC-One’s
Fosse Way View care home, in Bingham, have held a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
They were joined by family and friends, who enjoyed a range of mouth-watering cakes prepared by Fosse Way View’s kitchen team for a small donation to Macmillan. Once everyone had sampled the delicious food, attendees settled down to a take part in a quiz written by Fosse Way View resident Alan Cooper.
The morning concluded with residents, colleagues, friends, and family enjoying a chat with a cup of tea. Some residents shared stories about how Macmillan had helped them and their families, demonstrating how valuable the cancer charity is.
Overall, the event raised just under £80 for Macmillan.
Jean Hale, a resident at Fosse Way View, said:
“It has been a good turn out today; we didn’t win the quiz, but it was fun taking part and all for a good cause”.
Fiona Benning, Wellbeing Coordinator at Fosse Way View, commented:
“We’ve had lots of families and friends come along and show support, and we have had a great time this morning. Best of all is that we have raised money for Macmillan - every donation makes a difference”.
