Luton Residents enjoy weekly exercise with Burns GymResidents at residential, nursing and dementia care home Capwell Grange have been taking part in weekly exercise sessions lead by Burns Gym.

The Residents have been gathering in the lounge to get involved with some armchair exercises that the Burns Gym have been holding virtually. Together with wellbeing coordinator Kate, Residents stretched, slapped, air boxed and performed different hand exercises along with the trainers.

In the Mitre community, Pauline, Richard, David, Douglas, Yves, Barbra, Sally and Jeffery were the Residents who take part in the gym sessions, and all very much enjoyed their work out this week. One commented that the music they had on for some of the workouts was really relaxing. Pauline also said, “Wow the boys from Burns Gym are elegant today!”

Other Residents also mentioned how the exercises such as the arm and leg exercises, where they would have to lift them up and stretch them out was simple to follow yet beneficial to them. They also really enjoyed the music that was used with many even saying it made them want to get up and dance!

Nicola, Capwell Grange Home Manager went on to say, “These exercise classes are wonderful for our Residents, to be able to take part in them from our lounges is excellent. Burns Gym have really helped some of our Residents”.
