Love is in the air at HC-One’s Sheraton Court in Hartlepool, Teesside, as they celebrate the engagement of Nicky Collin, Home Administrator, and Stuart Thomson, Maintenance Operative.
It was just a normal Friday morning at Sheraton Court; Nicky was working away in her office when Stuart came in holding a bunch of flowers. When asked what they were for, Stuart replied, “because I love you” before walking around Nicky’s desk and getting down on one knee.
To Nicky’s absolute shock, he presented her with a beautiful diamond ring and asked if she would do him the pleasure of being his wife.
Nicky has worked with Stuart’s mum and Sheraton Court’s Home Manager, Carole Thomson ever since the home opened 10 years ago and Stuart had always been a good friend of Nicky’s, but it was at an awards evening that everything changed and ever since they have been inseparable.
The Residents could not be happier for the both of them and loved Nicky’s reaction; she was in total shock, which caused her to carry on with her job as normal.
