Lothian House enjoy tea with Spennymoor Town MayorSpennymoor Town Mayor, Ian Machin joined HC-One’s Lothian House Care Home in Spennymoor, County Durham, to celebrate the sixth annual Care Home Open Day on 21st April.

To celebrate in style, Ian Machin, Spennymoor’s Town Mayor, joined the Residents in welcoming family and neighbours to celebrate our Queen Elizabeth’s birthday.

Local singer, Allan Morris, joined the Residents in the morning for the ‘Big Sing’ and The Rainbow Choir continued the entertainment in the afternoon by singing to the Residents and guests.

Afternoon tea was served later in the afternoon from the ‘best dressed tea trolley’ and everyone enjoyed sampling the homemade sandwiches and cakes.

Ian Machin was given a tour of the home and met with Residents and colleagues to see first-hand the kind care being delivered.

Lothian House’s Home Manager, Jill Carr said:

“Thank you to all who came to take part in Care Home Open Day with us, especially Spennymoor Town Mayor, Ian Machin. We all had a wonderful time sitting and chatting with our neighbours and enjoyed trying some of the delicious cakes on our tea trolley.”
