Staff and Residents at
Ash Court residential care home, in Knotty Ash have turned the conservatory into an arts studio for Residents to become creative.
Natasha Ellis, Wellbeing Coordinator, together with Residents Eric Farrington, Marjorie Bennett, Margaret Wheeler, June Devine and Dorothy Poole, have designed the room where they can all spend time taking part in different activities in a space that they enjoy being in.
Residents have chosen to theme the room around Liverpool and the Beatles. They have also added a coffee bar outside the room so that Residents can enjoy a refreshing coffee whenever they want. The Residents have started to make tile boards ready to put up on the wall and sell.
Everyone enjoyed making an old room feel colourful and doing it together. Marjorie commented, “It’s perfect, you can now see how clever we all are, we are making some beautiful things!”
Fellow Resident Dorothy added, “It’s a place that we can feel happy. I like to take my family photos down to show my friends when we are all in there together.”
Natasha said, “I am so happy with what we have achieved, the Residents have really enjoyed going to the room and getting involved.”
