Liverpool care home manager receives Queens Award for Voluntary ServiceHC-One’s Bellefield care home manager, Jackie Bridge, was honoured to receive a Queens Award for Voluntary Service due to the work she has done with the Merseyside and Cheshire Blood Bikes.

The organisation is 100% voluntary and performs such a vital role in the transportation of blood, plasma and breast milk from around the region to hospitals and hospices at no charge to the NHS.

Jackie and the other volunteers were so pleased as they received their awards from David Briggs MBE, the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire, as they attended a celebration dinner at Cheshire View in Cheshire.

When asked, Jackie commented: “I was so honoured to receive the award as I really wasn’t expecting it. I was there to watch the team receive theirs and it is so well deserved.”
