Residents enjoyed an afternoon of playing with the snow today as they stayed nice and warm inside at HC-One’s The Beeches care home in Armthorpe, South Yorkshire.
Colleagues brought trays of snow in from outside following a night of heavy snowfall.
Residents enjoyed playing with the snow and some even made tiny smiling snowmen as they regaled their favourite chilly memories to cheer up the other Residents at the home.
Joan Dawson, a Resident at The Beeches, said: “It takes me back to when I was younger when my children used to make snowmen.
“You’re never too old to make a snowman. I forgot how cold it was though!”
After a chilly afternoon playing with the snow, Residents welcomed a hot cup of tea and a slice of cake to warm them up.
The heavy snow was a welcome act of nature to many in the home to cheer everyone up in such a difficult time.
Lauren Wilde, the very inspirational Home Manager at The Beeches, commented: “Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things but look at what they can do when they stick together.”
