Laughter all around for Roseberry Court on Shrove TuesdayRoseberry Court celebrated Shrove Tuesday with a pancake flipping competition including Residents, staff, family members and visitors.

There was laughter all day whilst the Residents watched pancakes being flipped, dropped and even eaten straight from the pan.

Guests joined in with some of them flipping pancakes for the first time and commenting “I can’t believe I’m doing this, but it’s so much fun! How have I ever not done it before. Roll on next year”.

The Residents loved watching each other’s efforts in trying to flip the pancakes, especially when they landed on the floor.

The winner of the pancake flipping competition was Resident June Walkers husband Edward, who had never flipped a pancake in his entire life.

Moral of the story: there’s always a first time for everything!

Gladys McLaughlin, a Resident, said:
“Oh I haven’t got time to flip” as she ate the pancake straight from the pan, laughing.
