Laindon care home celebrates KindnessResidents and Colleagues at Oaklands recently congratulated head chef, Oliver Clothier, and maintenance person Paul Knight, on receiving Kindness in Care awards.

Oliver and Paul were given the awards due to the compassion and kindness they always shows towards Residents, whilst recognising each one as an individual.

After working there for 11 months, Oliver has shown a dedication to Residents as he has taken the time to get to know each one individually, especially by understanding and incorporating their tastes and requirements into his menus.

To make the occasion even more special, Oliver’s daughter came to the home to congratulate her father on receiving his award.

Paul has worked there for many years, and he is always on hand to assist anyone when it is needed. He has also shown dedication towards Residents, Relatives and Colleagues.

Judith McGugan, Home Manager, commented: “Oliver and Paul are always happy to go the extra mile. Oliver will stay in the home to ensure Residents are happy before he leaves. Paul will always go to other homes to support in their time of need also. Nothing is too much trouble for either of them, and they are wonderful!”

Congratulations Oliver and Paul!
