Laindon care home celebrates fallen war heroes and 100 years of ArmisticeResidents and staff at HC-One’s Oaklands care home in Laindon, Essex paid their respects to the fallen war heroes and celebrated 100 years since the end of World War I with a commemorative service at the home.

Judith McGugan, Home Manager at Oaklands commented:

“This year’s Remembrance Day was especially poignant as 2018 is the centenary year of the First World War.

“Thank you to all those who attended our service and joined us in honouring the multitude who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the many conflicts in which this country has been engaged over the last one hundred years.”

Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.
