One very special Resident at Pennwood Lodge care home, in Gloucestershire, received a very special surprise on her birthday today.
Josie Ready celebrated her 90th birthday with a surprise window visit from her family.
Also, Colleagues at Pennwood organised a surprise party with a theme from the 1940s. Music was played through the projector from that era, with a show from Bob Hope.
The family were also able to join in the celebrations through a video link which they thoroughly enjoyed.
The look on Josie's face was a picture when she saw her family appear on the wall through the projector!
Head Chef, Carl Clutterbuck, provided a nice selection of finger-style foods and a wonderful chocolate cake (which was Josie’s favourite)
Josie was also presented with a photo board of her life's events, which was made by her fellow Residents.
Julie Hill, Wellbeing Coordinator) said, “It was a lovely surprise, very thoughtful and emotional.”
“It was wonderful to see Josie's reaction to her surprise party and the video link with her family.”
