Pennwood Lodge has close links with the British School primary in Wotton- Under- Edge and back in May, the home invited them to take part in making the Platinum Jubilee decorations and they have been put up for the extended weekend, looking absolutely fantastic!
The local primary school and Pennwood Lodge have a very close relationship, and they often correspond to each other. The children send in some lovely work to them, including art and poems, which Residents enjoy looking at and reading.
So, this June, Colleagues at the home supplied the materials for the children to decorate some squares in the theme of the Queen and the Jubilee. At the same time, Residents at the home were working on the same project.
The home received some fabulous, decorated squares from both groups, which were then displayed in the main entrance of the home, as part of the jubilee celebrations. There were all sorts of wonderful creations including the traditional United Kingdom red, white and blue colours, drawings of Queen Elizabeth, crowns and corgis!

Wellbeing Coordinator Julie commented, “It is always lovely to work on projects with local schools, and Residents always enjoy the artwork and poems that they receive from them.”
Shelia Edwards, who lives at Pennwood Lodge, commented on how wonderful the children’s work was and how nice it is to receive things from them.
