Kindness is rewarded at Rotherham care homeSilverwood care home in Rotherham was delighted to reward Colleagues Andrew and Donna for their kind care provided to Residents at the home.

Home Manager, Carrie Ann Davies, was pleased to present the pair with a Kindness in Care Award, following a number of nominations they received from Residents and Colleagues at Silverwood.

Donna received her award for being a constant positive influence within the home, with her laugh bringing a smile to Residents’ faces. Donna was also praised for nothing ever being too much trouble for her, as she will often spend her time with Residents in her lunch breaks.

Andrew was presented his Kindness in Care Award for his amazing communication with Residents living with dementia, as he is a patient individual who has built a wonderful rapport with those living at Silverwood.

The Kindness in Care Awards programme was launched by HC-One, a leading provider in health and social care, in October 2013.  It recognises the efforts of their kindest colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of Residents and their loved ones.

Month on month, record breaking numbers of awards are presented to colleagues, volunteers, and whole teams within the family of homes that HC-One operates across the UK.

One Resident commented: “Both Donna and Andrew are so very kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they always bring a smile to my face.”

Carrie Ann Davies said: “Donna and Andrew are a credit to the home and are well-thought of by Colleagues and the Residents at Silverwood. I am pleased their hard work and kindness was recognised and it was a pleasure to present them with this award.”
