Kindness is rewarded after life-saving act at Caerphilly care homeA home manager at HC-One’s Parklands care home in Bedwas, Caerphilly has been presented a Kindness in Care Award after saving a Resident’s life.

Lianne Hargreaves, Home Manager at Parklands, performed life-saving CPR on a resident living at the home after her heart suddenly stopped.

While the team at the home waited for the ambulance to arrive, colleagues stayed with the resident and reassured her that the paramedics would be there soon.

After receiving sincere thanks from the Residents’ family, HC-One area quality director Caroline Price nominated Lianne and her team for a Kindness in Care Award.

Launched in 2013, HC-One’s Kindness in Care Awards programme recognises the efforts of the company’s kindest Colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of residents and their loved ones.

Caroline presented Lianne with her award, along with a bouquet of flowers as a reward for her fantastic commitment to kind care.

Lianne said: “At HC-One, we are committed to providing the kindest possible care to our residents and responding so quickly to this situation to help the resident was simply my first instinct.

“I was delighted to receive my Kindness in Care award as this will be a lifelong reminder of the difference we make to residents’ lives here at Parklands.”

Caroline commented: “Lianne always goes the extra mile for everyone in her care and this award reflects how her kind and caring nature has made a truly life-changing impact to those living in her care.

“Life at Parklands truly wouldn’t be the same without Lianne, she is exactly what HC-One is all about.”

Located on Newport Road, Parklands offers short and long term care packages to older members of the community requiring residential and nursing care.
