Kindness delivered at Hamilton homeHC-One’s Douglas View Care Home in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, is celebrating the success of Staff Nurse, Lyndsey Barnes, who received a Kindness in Care Award for the great work she delivers for Residents on a daily basis.

Resident Annie Stobbie nominated Lyndsey for her award, praising her for going above and beyond to provide the kindest care. Lyndsey came in on her day off to do Annie’s hair and make up for her birthday, ensuring she looked and felt a million dollars on her special day. Lyndsey continually goes the extra mile to put a smile on Residents’ faces.

Since 2013, over 3,000 HC-One colleagues have been awarded for their commitment to kindness with nominations invited from Residents, relatives, colleagues or visitors to the home.

HC-One Douglas View Care Home Manager, Katy Jenks, said:

“I am delighted and very proud that Lyndsey has been recognised for all her hard work. She is a pleasure to work with, and always goes that extra mile to deliver to the kindest care to Residents.”

HC-One Managing Director, Elizabeth Roscoe, said:

“The Kindness in Care Awards programme is about recognising and celebrating colleagues who demonstrate the kindest care and the best practice that we can all learn from, and Douglas View has the privilege of having just such a colleague.

“Each and every day, HC-One staff do incredible work, and make such a difference to the lives of Residents living in our homes. It is great to work with such inspirational, caring and kind people.”
