Kindness delivered at Greenfield ParkHC-One’s Greenfield Park Care Home in Carntyne is celebrating the work of two of its nurses, who have received Kindness in Care Awards for their quick thinking and compassionate support of a colleague who was taken ill on a shift.

The Kindness in Care Awards programme was launched by HC-One, a leading provider in health and social care, in October 2013.  It recognises the efforts of their kindest colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of Residents and their loved ones. Month on month, record breaking numbers of awards are presented to colleagues, volunteers, and whole teams within the family of homes that HC-One operates across the UK.

Nurses Annmarie McFadyen and Lee Binnie sprang into action when one of their colleagues fainted while on shift and sustained a serious head injury.  The two supported her by providing quick first aid and ensuring she was safe while they waited on an ambulance, managing the situation calmly and caringly. Their colleague is immensely grateful for their kindness and support during a very traumatic event.

HC-One Home Manager, Robert Murray, said:

“Annmarie and Lee are excellent nurses, and their actions ensured that their injured colleague received outstanding care and attention while waiting for emergency services to arrive. We at Greenfield Park are all very proud of them.

“They are a true credit to the kind and caring community we foster and develop here.”
