Kindness delivered at Bishop Auckland care homeHC-One’s Eden House care home in Bishop Auckland, County Durham is celebrating the work of Tracy McKerr and Saffy Kocu, who both received a Kindness in Care Award for their thoughtful and conscientious attitudes.

The Kindness in Care Awards programme was launched by HC-One, a leading provider in health and social care, in October 2013. It recognises the efforts of their kindest colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of Residents and their loved ones. 

Tracy McKerr recently joined the team at Eden House as a Wellbeing Coordinator and has already impressed her fellow Colleagues as well as Residents and Relatives. One Resident, Betty Towns told the Home Manager at Eden House that Tracy has made time fly with all the new fun activities and events.

Betty, Resident at Eden House and Norma, a Resident’s family member, nominated Tracy for a Kindness in Care award for her award all of her hard work. Tracy has introduced a new Wellbeing calendar with new regular activities such as gardening, knit and knatter and baking clubs.

Emma Wade, Home Manager at Eden House also nominated Nurse Practitioner, Saffy Kocu for a Kindness in Care Award for the amazing work she does on her often daily visits to Eden House. 

The ladies were presented with their awards by the people they were nominated by, both Tracy and Saffy were thrilled to have recognised with a Kindness in Care Award and thanked their nominators for thinking of them.

Eden House Home Manager, Emma Wade, said: “It was a pleasure to celebrate the hard work of both Tracy and Saffy, they are both incredible examples of individuals who are willing to go the extra mile for everyone and these awards are the best way to honour everything they do for the whole community at Eden House.”
