Kenton care home visit the Great North MuseumSix Residents from HC-One’s Kirkwood Court Care Home in Kenton, Newcastle-upon-Tyne took a bus trip to the Great North Museum.

Lillian Bell, Anne Paperesti, Anne Kyle, Charles Herzberg, George Roy and Kath Spencer enjoyed looking around the museum and seeing the special exhibits for the Great Exhibition of the North.

The highlights of the trip were seeing the Olympic torches and John Lennon’s piano, which prompted a singalong of “Imagine” from the Residents.

Everyone enjoyed testing out a new prototype public bench, which is designed with input from Age Concern to be comfortable and suitable for the elderly, then giving the museum staff their feedback.

Charles Herzverg was reminded of his days as an engineer when he said he discovered that there was a “standard British bum!”
