HC-One’s Summerhill Care Home in Kendal, Cumbria, is celebrating having received a glowing report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The team at Summerhill was delighted to have received an impressive CQC report that rated the home as “Good” overall, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for Residents and that it is Caring, Safe, Effective, Responsive and Well-led.
The CQC were full of praise for the team at Summerhill, noting that they are ‘respectful’ and ‘reassuring’. Colleagues were seen to be ‘kind and caring’ in their interactions with Residents, demonstrating person-centred care, while the chatter and laughter heard throughout the home highlights the close relationships that members of the team have built with the people they support.
The CQC’s praise was reflected in comments from Residents and relatives at Summerhill. One Resident commented that colleagues at the home are “exceptionally kind and affectionate. The staff are also very caring for each other; which is nice to see”, while relatives noted that “without a doubt they are empathetic”. “It is a great relief to my family to know I am being looked after”, said another Resident at the home.
