Jesmond care home celebrates the power of artFleming Court care home in Jesmond – part of HC-One, the kind care company – welcomed friends, family, local school children and other members of the local community to celebrate the seventh annual Care Home Open Day on Friday 28th June. 

Care Home Open Day is a national event that gives local people the opportunity to learn more about the care services at the heart of their community. 

This year’s theme was ‘Celebrating Art in Care,’ with HC-One launching a national Art Competition to encourage, Residents, their loved ones, colleagues and neighbours to unleash their creativity and design their own masterpiece. 

Guests were welcomed to Fleming Court with a prosecco reception and a delicious homemade buffet lunch, pupils from The Royal Grammar School visited Fleming Court to perform beautiful music played on variety of musical instruments, including, the piano, flute and violin. 

A local art gallery provided some unique art pieces created by artists from the area which were admired by all who attended the home, everyone had a good laugh at the amazing caricatures which were made of some of the team.

Margaret Lydall, a Resident at Fleming Court said: “Thank you everyone, I really enjoyed all of the music and the prosecco. The performances were excellent.” 

Fleming Court Home Manager, Julie Baron, commented: “It has been such a wonderful day, it was lovely to see everyone sharing stories and laughing together. Thank you so much to all our amazing guests who attended our event and helped make it such a special day.”
