Ipswich care home hosts open dayHC-One’s Monmouth Court care home in Ipswich, welcomed the local community to celebrate the opening of the new dementia café at the homes open day on Thursday 21st June.

The theme of Monmouth Court’s open day was dementia awareness, with a virtual dementia tour bus and the grand opening of the homes very own dementia café. A jam packed day was in store for all with a steel band performance, petting zoo, falconry display, a hog roast, ice cream van among the long list of things to enjoy.

Residents, visitors and staff came together to take part in the festivities, Graham Stokes, Director of Memory Care at HC-One also paid a visit to witness the unveiling of the dementia café. 

Councillor Sarah Barber, Deputy Mayor of Ipswich arrived at the event to cut the ribbon on Monmouth Court’s dementia café and meet some of the Residents. 

A great day was had by all, with Residents and visitors commenting on amazing the variety of activities were. 

Monmouth Court Home Manager, Rebecca Watkins said:

“Thank you to all who came to take part in our open day with us. It was wonderful to see the Residents having such a nice time chatting with friends and family.”

HC-One Managing Director, Amanda Scott said:

“It was great that Councillor Sarah Barber was able to take the time to share the afternoon with all at Monmouth Court. At HC-One, we open our doors to friends, family, neighbours and local people regularly to offer kindness and support, and most importantly, to enrich the lives of our Residents.”
