Intergenerational relationships built with local nursey and care homeBuilding up relationships with people and organisations within the local area, is something Colleagues at Meadow Bank care home, in Bamber Bridge, Preston, always try to achieve. And they’ve formed a brilliant partnership with the local nursery, who regularly visit Residents, including the latest visit that happened on 14th March.

Billington Bears Nursery children visited Meadow Bank leading up to Mother’s Day. They joined in with making Mother’s Day posters using flower stickers, and chatted to Residents about their creations.

Later, the children and Residents Christine, Eileen and Roy, had a game of balloon volleyball which went down very well, lots of laughter and smiling from everyone.

Christine, who lives at the 110-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, said, “It was lovely seeing the children, it reminded me of my children being young.”

Housekeeper Val said, “It was a very cheerful afternoon! Roy loved playing balloon volleyball with the children.

Stacey, who is a Nursing Assistant at Meadow Bank, remarked, “It was lovely to see how happy the Residents and children were together. They had a really nice time playing and it does show the success of building up intergenerational relationships.”
