Intergenerational crafts at Kendal care homeResidents at HC-One’s Summerhill care home in Kendal welcomed children from a local primary school on Monday 4th November for a festive arts and crafts session.

The children were invited to join Residents in making Christmas cards to be entered into the HC-One Christmas card competition, where care homes all over the UK submit their best Christmas card entries with the chance of winning a Christmas hamper and printed versions of the Christmas card design.

Everyone came together to create some beautiful Christmas card designs, Residents and children sang popular nursery rhymes as they worked and the children took their cards home to show their parents.

One Resident commented: “It was lovely to see the children and chat with them as we worked on our card designs.”

Summerhill Home Manager, Kathleen Dean said: “Thank you to the children for visiting us, it’s heart-warming to see both generations spending quality time together.”
