Intergenerational celebrations at Glasgow care home Residents from HC-One’s Darnley Court care home in Greater Pollok, Glasgow celebrated the graduation of local nursery children who they have been spending time with over the last two years as part of an intergenerational project.

Children from local nursery have been visiting Residents at Darnley Court on a regular basis over the last two years, the time has come for the children to move on to primary school, so the Residents wanted to do something special to celebrate their time together.

A special graduation party was organised for the children, Residents prepared letters where they passed on words of wisdom to their younger friends, on the day, the children all wore graduation caps and everyone was happy to celebrate the younger generation’s next adventure.

Residents enjoyed the graduation, one Resident commented: “This is what it’s all about, the young kids. I hope I can see them all again for their next graduation.”

Darnley Court Home Manager, Katy Jenks commented: “Intergenerational projects are so important, seeing the friendships formed between Residents and the children over the last two years is truly wonderful.

“I would like to wish all of these lovely children good luck in their future endeavours from everyone at Darnley Court.”
