Interest in dancing led to 60 years of marriageA Resident and her husband celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary surrounded by loved ones at HC-One’s Lunan Court Care Home in Arbroath, Angus.

Resident Irene Milne and her husband Brian celebrated their diamond-wedding anniversary this month with a party at Lunan Court, surrounded by friends and family.

They were delighted to receive a special visit from the Lord Provost of Angus, Ronnie Proctor MBE FSA Scot, who presented Irene with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Irene and Brian met in 1961 at a local dance club before marrying at The Old Church in Arbroath.

Irene has been a Resident at Lunan Court since 17th Feb 2015 and her loving husband Brian visits her every day religiously. When asked what their secret to a long marriage was, Irene laughed and commented:

“The fact that Brian was never at home!”

Brian is a member of the SNP, which has kept him very busy throughout the years, campaigning etc. In his earlier years, he used to be a teacher at the local school where he taught several of the team at Lunan Court.

Lunan Court’s Home Manager, Gemma Rice commented:

“We had a wonderful day celebrating Irene and Brian. It’s an honour for us as a team to help such a lovely couple celebrate such an achievement and on behalf of all at Lunan Court; I would like to wish them every happiness for the future.”
