Residents at
Park House care home in Guisborough, look forward to the annual inter floor cricket challenge every year. And this year it was the best yet.
Two teams take part in the cricket challenge, one team are from the memory care floor and the other team is made up of Residents from the ground floor.
The game is played for a cricket trophy that is then engraved with the winning team; it is then kept on that floor for the full year. There are also awards for the man and women of the match.
The games were very competitive as both floors were eager to win the trophies.
The winning team this year was the ground floor, for only the second time in the six years the challenge has been going ahead. John the team captain took the honours of collecting the trophy on behalf of the team.
The team were delighted to have won!
Jean from the ground floor team was the women of the match and Tom, from the memory care team was the man of the match and was the overall top scorer.
The match was supported by staff and family members and afterwards there was some lovely refreshments and a big cup of tea.
It was a fantastic afternoon, and everyone involved had lots of fun!
Deputy Home Manager, Jon Paul, commented, “I am so proud of all the Residents and was proud to present them with the trophy and medals.”
