A Resident at HC-One’s April Park care home in Eckington was delighted to discover her in-law and family friend of 60 years had joined her to live in the same care home.
John and Nellie first met 60 years ago, when John worked as a miner and Nellie worked at Turners cutlery hall. The pair soon hit it off as great friends as they became in-laws through marriage.
The pair, who used to enjoy booking holidays together with Nova Tours, were overjoyed to discover that they were living in the same care home.
Since becoming a fellow Resident of John’s, Nellie has enjoyed catching up with her friend and sharing memories of ‘the good old days!’
Nellie said: “It has made my day seeing my brother-in-law after all these months.”
Gail Wardle, Home Manager at April Park, said: “It has been so beautiful to see John and Nellie reunite in the same care home.”
