Hyde care home makes their very own bar!HC One’s The Sycamores care home decided to make their very own makeshift bar today.

Charlotte, the deputy home manager at the Hyde care home, arranged to open up a bar for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon to make the Residents smile during this difficult time.

Charlotte said “We had a fantastic turn out and it was lovely to see the happiness on each of our Residents faces”.

The bar was stocked up with plenty of snacks including After Eight chocolates, crisps, biscuits and cake. Of course the beverages were filled up too, with a selection of options to suit everybody’s taste, from a large shandy to a prosecco with orange juice and more.

Music was playing from the 1960’s in the backdrop of the ‘bar’ to set the tone, then changing into a bit of Smooth radio later. Colleagues at the home and the Residents all joined in doing the Hockey Cokey and Cha Cha Slide, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day for all and really lifted everybody’s spirits.

One of the Residents commented “Thank-you for this it has really made me smile”.
