Husky Therapy at Appleton LodgeResidents at Appleton Lodge care home in Stockport, Cheshire welcomed some extra fluffy guests into the home.

Thunder, Stormy, Thor and Binny-Boo are part of a special team of “Therapy Huskies” who visit care homes and aim to bring a little bit of joy and happiness to Residents.

Thunder in particular gave some extra special cuddles to those who needed it most. All four of the homes new furry friends will be visiting the home again this year as the Residents enjoyed the visit so much.

Residents enjoyed asking questions about the packs diet and exercise and grooming and many began reminiscing about owning dogs.

Kay Slinger, Home Manager at HC-One’s Appleton Lodge commented:

“Thor, Thunder, Stormy and Binny-Boo were fantastic in the home and the Residents enjoyed their furry cuddles and are excited to see the dogs again!”

Appleton Lodge is located in Lingard Lane and offers short and long-term care to elderly members of the community needing Residential and Residential Dementia Care.

Appleton Lodge is dedicated to the wellbeing of residents and encourages them to take an active role in home life. HC-One works closely with Residents and their families to put on a host of activities that suits Resident’s hobbies and interests.
