Huddersfield care home unveils new indoor garden ready for summerThe Oakes care home in Huddersfield was delighted to unveil its new indoor garden to Residents in time for summer.

The garden features colourful painted walls and a selection of indoor plants, which green-fingered Residents have enjoyed helping to water and grow.

Colleagues at The Oakes were joined by Residents and their loved ones to complete the artwork on the walls, which was a great team effort across the home.

The initiative to have an indoor garden has already proven a great success, especially amongst those Residents who are keen gardeners as it has allowed them to continue their hobby even when the weather is poor outside.

Macheala Parker, Home Manager at The Oakes, said: “It was lovely to see the Residents’ faces when the indoor garden was revealed to them. It’s already proven a massive success and we can’t wait to see how the decorations and varieties of plants will change throughout the seasons.”
