Homemade pies are a hit at Falstone CourtResidents at Falstone Court care home in Sunderland were delighted to put their culinary skills to the test as they learned how to make homemade pies.

Everyone enjoyed taking a turn of making the pastry, filling the pies with corned beef and decorating them before they went into the oven.

The pies were enjoyed by Residents later with their favourite drinks as they shared memories of baking in the past.

One Resident commented: “I really enjoyed making the pies as it reminded me of making pastry dishes for my family when I was younger.”

Alison Hunter, Home Manager at Falstone Court, said: “Our Residents did a fantastic job at making the pies, the home smelt absolutely amazing as they were baking and there were smiles all around.”
