On the seventh annual Care Home Open Day, HC-One’s Carrington Court care home opened its doors to the community to take part in the creative celebrations. Colleagues decided to get ‘arty’ as they created decorations in the theme of ‘a day on the prom’ and encouraged Residents to take part in arts and craft sessions with them.
The walls were painted to look like a local promenade with various attractions, whilst everyone was able to take turns to enjoy the ‘face in hole’ boards created by Colleagues.
Residents and Colleagues were also joined by local school children who took part in various art activities, including painting with the Residents. Refreshments were then served for all to enjoy, consisting of tea and coffee alongside freshly baked cakes and sweet treats.
Rebecca Asprey, Home Manager, commented: “It’s been a wonderfully creative afternoon and it’s such a nice opportunity to welcome the local community into the home.”
