HC-One’s Ash Tree House Care Home, in Hindley, Wigan, opened its doors wide for an unforgettable day of laughter, excitement, and friendly competition as it hosted an indoor fun fair on Monday, April 7.
Partnering with Sundial Productions Limited, the event welcomed around 30 attendees, including local community members, for a free celebration of classic fairground fun with a modern twist. The halls of Ash Tree House buzzed with energy as guests tested their skills at an array of inventive stalls.
"The Voltometre" challenged participants to guide a key through a winding metal tube – without setting off the dreaded buzz – while "Ten Second Touch" had players racing against a digital countdown, aiming to halt it as close to 10 seconds as possible for a chance at a prize.
Tossing skills were put to the test with "The Ringer," a hoop toss game, and "Ping Pong a Rooney," where landing a ball in a jar unlocked the treasure within. Meanwhile, "Corn Hole" brought out the sharpshooters, as competitors aimed bean bags at a tricky ramp target.
The air was sweetened by the aroma of homemade cakes, paired with refreshing soft drinks, available to all attendees at no cost. The event fostered a warm sense of community, blending nostalgia with fresh fun for all ages.
Marie Phillips, HC-One’s Ash Tree House Front of House Manager, stated:
“This was a fantastic day for everyone involved. Seeing the community come together to enjoy these creative games and treats truly made it special. We’re grateful to Sundial Productions for bringing this joy to our doorstep!”
