Hinckley care home Resident reunited with foster sonColin, a Resident at HC One’s Hinckley Park care home, had a surprise window visit from Tom who he fostered many years ago.

The doorbell ringing isn't a unusual occurrence at the Hinckley care home, but sometimes the people on the other side are and today was no exception.

Recently a lovely gentleman by the name of Tom stopped by the home and asked if a gentleman by the name of Colin lived there.

After a little digging, Colleagues at the home were able to piece together the puzzle. Tom was one of the many children that Colin had fostered over the years.

Although Colin has forgotten the exact amount (estimated to be between 60 and 100 children), he's never forgotten any of them.
Colin said “Tom was with me for 3 years, it’s great to see him.”

In fact, there's a photo of Tom in Colin's room and he was over the moon to see the young man whom he'd spent three years looking after and raising.

They had a brief chat on the phone via the window and Tom left his contact details with the home, so that he can stay in touch with Colin.

The home would like to say a big ‘thank-you’ to Tom, for tracking down Colin and making his day!
