Highgate care home cheering on the horses at Grand National weekendResidents at Highgate, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Glasgow, had lots of fun over the Grand National weekend.

The Grand National was celebrated in style by the Residents at Highgate. The house bar was decorated, and everyone was invited to place a bet, some of the Residents even visited the local bookmakers to place their bets. Robert McCormack, a resident, loved placing his bets on the horses.

Residents sat at the bar with beers and snacks, there was a great atmosphere with everyone cheering on their horses. Everyone was laughing and shouting hoping that their horse would be the winner!

It was great for the Residents and staff to come together and have a day to remember. A staff member, commented, “It was great to see the male Residents all come together to socialise and have a beer and some snacks.”

Both, David Littlejohn and John O’Donnell, Residents at Highgate, said, “It was fantastic, such a brilliant day!”
