Henley-on-Thames care home hosts Oktoberfest-themed lunchThamesfield care home in Henley-on-Thames celebrated Oktoberfest by hosting a special Germanic lunch for Resident to enjoy.

Chefs from Thamesfield prepared a delicious lunch which included Graupensuppe (German sausage and barley soup) and Gebackener Schnapper (baked snapper) followed by black forest gateaux and traditional pretzels. 

German music was played throughout the meal which helped create a special Oktoberfest-style atmosphere. Residents commented that it was lovely to sample foods from other countries and celebrate their traditions. 

Oktoberfest is the world's largest Volksfest. Held annually in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, it is a 16- to 18-day folk festival running from mid or late September to the first weekend in October, with more than six million people from around the world attending the event every year.
