Henley care home takes a trip to wonderlandResidents at HC-One’s Thamesfield Care Home in Henley recently took a trip to Wonderland as they enjoyed a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, which was kindly organised by staff.

The event was held outside the home, in a marquee by the river, and was beautifully decorated in true ‘Alice in Wonderland’ style as staff were dressed as various characters, and hand-crafted decorations adorned the walls and tables of the marquee.

On arrival of the event, Residents were welcomed with a refreshing glass of Pimms and sat down to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea, consisting of delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones, lovingly prepared by the home’s chef and served on bone chine.

The tea party was especially enjoyable for Residents and Colleagues alike, as they were serenaded by a string quartet of sixth form students from the local Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School. Entertainment was also provided by magician, Robert Bone, who made his way around each table to perform some mesmerising tricks and amaze all in attendance.

The lovely weather ensured the day was a success and all were able to enjoy it.
Lina Nela, Home Manager, commented: “It was such a wonderful afternoon and everyone enjoyed the theme of the party. It’s been lovely to see the Resident’s enjoy themselves.”
