Henley care home experiences taste of GreeceResidents at Thamesfield regularly enjoy themed lunches consisting of delicacies from all over the world.

On this occasion, they sampled some delicious food items from Greece created by their Head Chef, Adrian, who was the best to advise on the cuisine, due to his Greek origin.

This event meant Residents were able to reminisce their past holidays as they shared memories with one another, enjoying the Greek music that filled the room with harmony

Everyone was able to get into the spirit and enjoy the cultural delights of the country, with delicacies that included a Mezze of dips and Houmous, warm pitta bread, Lamb Kleftiko(shoulder of lamb) and Psari sto Furno (Greek style baked cod) alongside deserts such as Galaktoboureko (Greek Custard Pie) with Orange Syrup or Greek Yoghurt with toasted almonds and honey.

One Resident remarked: “I really enjoy our themed lunches, the lamb was the best that I have ever tasted.”
