Hebburn Court introduce HenPower into the their homeHC-One’s Hebburn Court Care Home in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear have introduced HenPower into the home.

HenPower cultivates creativity in care settings at a time in life when most are slowing down, and not stepping into wellies or making masterpieces. HenPower brings together older people by engaging them in arts activities and hen keeping, combating loneliness and depression and improving wellbeing.

Residents at Hebburn Court were thrilled to welcome 12 eggs into the home and incubate them and can’t wait to watch them hatch into chicks over the next 21 days.

Everyone enjoyed holding the eggs, naming them and then placing them into the incubator, with Sandra Smallcombe, Resident at Hebburn Court, commenting “Aren’t they lovely” whilst smiling and placing her chosen egg into the incubator.

Hebburn Court’s Wellbeing Co-Ordinator, Theresa Moore commented:

“I think this is such a fantastic project for the Residents here at Hebburn Court, the interaction from them so far has been so heart-warming to watch.”
