Hebburn care home volunteer wins award for commitment to kind careHC-One’s Hebburn Court care home in Tyne and Wear is celebrating the work of care volunteer Phylis, who has received a Kindness in Care Award for her great support to Residents throughout her career at the home.

The Kindness in Care Awards programme was launched by HC-One in October 2013.  It recognises the efforts of their kindest Colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of Residents and their loved ones. Month on month, record-breaking numbers of awards are presented to Colleagues, volunteers, and whole teams within the family of homes that HC-One operates across the UK.

Phylis, who is a former employee at Hebburn Court, now dedicates much of her spare time to volunteering at the home, as it still remains an extremely important part of her life. She visits the home on a daily basis to help support the Residents and help out her former Colleagues.

Phylis said: “I will treasure this award for the rest of my life.”

John Lafferty, Home Manager at Hebburn Court, said: “It’s always a real pleasure when Phylis visits the home as she makes a real difference to our Residents and brightens up their day and we think the world of her. I find it really heart-warming to see just how much Hebburn Court means to her.”
